CUSTOMER INFORMATION

Terms & Conditions

These terms set out the basis on which Munro Electrical supplies electrical services. They are intended to keep pricing, scope and responsibilities clear. Nothing in these terms limits rights that a consumer has under applicable law.

1. Quotations & scope

Written quotations are based on the information and access available when the quotation is prepared and cover only the work described. Unless stated otherwise, a quotation is not an open-ended commitment to carry out additional work. Any requested change or additional work will be discussed and, where reasonably practicable, priced or otherwise agreed before it is carried out.

2. Call-outs, fault finding & minimum charges

For standard appointments during normal working hours, Munro Electrical has a minimum attendance charge of £70. This includes attendance and up to the first hour of labour for the booked work. The minimum charge applies once attendance has been agreed, even where the fault is diagnosed or the work is completed in less than one hour. Materials, parking or other agreed third-party costs, and work beyond the first hour are additional and will be explained before additional chargeable work is undertaken. Different charges may apply to emergency, out-of-hours or specially quoted work, but these will be communicated and agreed before attendance.

3. Prices, materials & payment

Prices will be stated as clearly as reasonably possible before work proceeds. Materials, parking, access equipment or other job-specific costs are included only where the quotation or booking says they are included. Payment is due in accordance with the quotation or invoice. Larger jobs may require a reasonable deposit or staged payments where this is agreed in advance.

4. Access & customer responsibilities

The customer must provide safe and reasonable access to the property and relevant electrical equipment at the agreed time, and tell Munro Electrical about known hazards, access restrictions or other information that may affect the work. Delays or additional work caused by circumstances not reasonably apparent beforehand will be discussed with the customer.

5. Existing installations & unforeseen issues

Electrical work can reveal defects, damage, non-compliant alterations or other conditions that were not visible before work began. Munro Electrical will explain material unforeseen issues when identified. Work outside the agreed scope will not normally be treated as included in the original price unless expressly agreed.

6. Cancellations & work agreed remotely or at home

Consumers may have statutory cancellation rights for certain contracts agreed online, by telephone or away from business premises. Where a statutory cancellation right applies, Munro Electrical will not seek to remove or restrict it. If a customer asks for eligible services to begin during a statutory cancellation period, any required express request/acknowledgement will be obtained. Any cancellation charge or deduction will be limited to what is lawful and reasonable in the circumstances.

7. Workmanship & statutory rights

Services will be carried out with reasonable care and skill. Nothing in these terms excludes or restricts any statutory rights or any liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or restricted.

8. Completion, testing & documentation

Where inspection, testing or certification is required for the work undertaken, appropriate documentation will be provided in accordance with the nature and scope of the work and applicable requirements. The customer should retain electrical documentation supplied for future reference.

9. Photographs submitted with enquiries

Photos submitted through the website are used to understand the enquiry and may assist with initial advice or estimating. A photograph does not replace an on-site assessment where one is needed, and a price or diagnosis based on photographs may need to be revised if the actual conditions differ materially from what was shown or described.

10. Complaints & queries

If you have a concern about work or an invoice, please contact Munro Electrical promptly so the matter can be reviewed. Email: info@munroelec.co.uk   Phone: 0141 461 2020.
